HR Assistant

We are currently responding to the high influx of refugees and migrants through Croatia where we are active in Slavonski Brod registering transit camp.

Centre for peace Osijek in cooperation with Save the Children are looking for a skilled HR Assistant to be based in Slavonski Brod, with the following experience:

• Applicants must be Croatian nationals, or holders of a work visa and resident’s permit.
• Ability to relocate within the country if required.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Proven track record of working in an HR administrative role in a highly customer focussed environment.
• Good administration skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent database skills, with accurate and timely maintenance of systems.
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office Word and Excel (intermediate level).
• Demonstrable knowledge of HR systems and processes, including monthly payroll.
• Ability to cope with a high volume of varied work.
• Good numeracy skills.
• A commitment to the aims and objectives of Save the Children.
• Able to carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects Save the Children’s commitment to safeguarding children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

As the HR Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Recruitment
• Manage recruitment mailbox receiving and assessing applications
• Obtain and validate pre-employment checks for new starters, including references and medical clearance.
• Schedule interviews with candidates, line managers and other appropriate staff to attend
• Produce employee letters for new starters, contractual changes and leavers.
Recording and Data Entry
• Maintain the HR databases on an accurate and timely basis, ensuring data is complete and accurate.
• Maintain the electronic and manual files including archiving in line with Data Protection
• Assist in the production of reports and statistics, such as exit interview data and information about the SCUK establishment
Payroll and Policies
• Manage the compilation of monthly payroll data for transfer to the payroll.
• Provide timely and accurate advice to employees on employee benefits and policies.
General
• Undertaking ad hoc project work as defined by the HR Manager
• Consider and suggest changes to ways of working to improve service levels.
