The meeting brought together the project and associated partners with the aim of officially launching the project, agreeing on its objectives, activities and responsibilities, and laying the foundations for successful cooperation throughout the 20-month implementation period.
During the meeting, partners aligned on key aspects of project implementation – from activity coordination, management and reporting to communication, visibility, and common standards in the areas of ethics, safeguarding, equality and non-discrimination.
Discussions with associated partners also focused on the importance of local memory and remembrance culture. Experiences were exchanged on the challenges of formal school curricula, good practices in non-formal projects, and the need for stronger connections between institutions, archives and local communities in preserving and passing on memories of past events and fostering their understanding in contemporary society.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen connections among partners, and jointly reflect on how youth engagement and cooperation with local communities can contribute to developing a culture of remembrance and building a more inclusive and tolerant future.
