The 2025 Award for the Promotion of Peacebuilding, Nonviolence and Human Rights “Krunoslav Sukić” is awarded with gratitude to:
Emina Bužinkić – for more than two decades of peacebuilding, supporting young people in processes of facing the past, advocacy for migrants, and for her voice of global solidarity with the suffering of people and children in Palestine, through which she teaches us the language of dignity, freedom, hospitality and human responsibility.
The authorial and production team of the documentary film MIROTVORAC – for documenting the peacemaking role of Josip Reihl-Kir, returning him to his rightful place in history as a symbol of heroism in the service of peace, and for courageously exposing the logic of wartime violence, thereby opening space for confronting controversies and fostering social dialogue.
The 2025 Recognition for the Promotion of Peacebuilding, Nonviolence and Human Rights “Krunoslav Sukić” is awarded with gratitude to:
Morana Miljanović, the brave captain who rescues lives from the waters of the Mediterranean – desperate people and children on the move, as well as those trapped in Gaza – and who loudly calls for global solidarity against ruthless violence.
The members of the Centre for Youth “KVART” Prijedor, because they provide a safe space where marginalised individuals find support, and persistently and courageously transform the inherited post-war pain and divisions into a better present and a safer future.
The Recognition for BOOK OF THE YEAR 2024/2025 is awarded with gratitude to:
Branko Sekulić for the book Prodor u srce sakraliziranog zločina (Penetration into the Heart of Sacralised Crime), Biblioteka XX vek, Belgrade, 2024. We value its contribution to understanding how the manipulation of ethnic and religious aspects of life serves to achieve ideological goals and fuels the spiral of violence in war, but also how, even in such circumstances, ethno-cultural empathy opens spaces for peacebuilding.
The 2025 PEACEBUILDING SCHOOL Recognition is awarded with gratitude to two primary schools:
To the students and teachers of Višnjevac Primary School for building a safe and stimulating environment in which diversity is respected, solidarity is developed, skills of nonviolent conflict resolution are learned, and active citizenship and care for nature are strengthened.
To the students and teachers of Joakim Rakovac Primary School for their persistent, proactive and creative efforts to enhance their peacebuilding capacities – multiculturalism, cooperation, nonviolent conflict management, friendship and solidarity towards both the local and the global community.
