We held an education session on combating discrimination and protecting minority rights at the Vukovar City Library.

Organized by the Centre for Peace, Non-Violence and Human Rights Osijek, on May 22 and 23, 2025, a two-day training was held at the Vukovar City Library for national minority councils, civil society organizations, institutions and other stakeholders in the fight against discrimination and intolerance as part of the F.R.E.D. project - Fostering Racial Equality and Diversity, which aims to reduce racism, discrimination and other forms of intolerance based on racial or ethnic origin, skin color and religion.

The program was divided into two thematic parts:

  1. Theoretical framework - Discrimination and minority rights
  2. Practical application - Fighting discrimination and protecting minority rights

The training increased knowledge and awareness among minority representatives, civil society, institutions and other stakeholders about anti-discrimination legislation and reporting mechanisms at the national and EU levels.

Lecturers included: prof. dr. sc. Anita Blagojević, mag.act.soc. Nina Sauerborn, Tatjana Vlašić, Deputy Ombudsman, and representative of the Office of the Ombudsman Mladen Stojanović.

The next workshops will be held in Zagreb, Rijeka, and Čakovec.
