Through education on human rights and non-violent communication against prejudice and discrimination

As part of the project Social Mentoring for the Roma Community of Baranja, we talked about the importance of nonviolent communication as a tool in the fight against discrimination. Special emphasis is placed on techniques such as active listening and listening with empathy, which contribute to better mutual understanding and reduction of conflicts.

Through interactive activities, participants learned how to connect specific statements and situations with certain forms of human rights, such as the right to health care. Through the symbolic exercise of building a "bridge of rights", each brick represented one human right and by moving any brick, the bridge collapses. This exercise served as a powerful metaphor for the importance of each individual right and the need for their mutual balance and preservation.

The workshops ended with the educational game Hate Out!, which encourages participants to recognize and combat hate speech in the online environment.

The common conclusion was clear: every human right is equally important, and nonviolent communication is the foundation of a society that respects diversity and builds bridges of understanding.
