Centre for Peace Hosts U.S. Social Work Students
The Centre for Peace has partnered with Indiana University and professor Carmen Luca Sugawara once again in the exchange of experiences and examples of good practice.
Students had the opportunity to participate in designing mental health workshops for the Roma community as part of the Social Mentoring for the Roma Community of Baranja project, where they also visited the Roma Darda Cultural Center, where education for the Roma community of Darda is carried out every Wednesday, and they participated in the implementation of the activities themselves. They were also presented with the project Between Law and Reality: Are We Safe in the Health System?, where they had the opportunity to work on an existing campaign to raise awareness of citizens about experienced discrimination or sexual violence (in the health system).
We are grateful for the recognition of the Centre for Peace as an important organization in ensuring the well-being not only of the local community, but of all citizens of the Republic of Croatia as well. We look forward to further cooperation with such exceptional students!
