A two-day training on the fight against discrimination and the protection of minority rights was held within the project F.R.E.D. - Fostering Racial Equality and Diversity
Organized by the Centre for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights Osijek, on April 28 and 29, 2025, an education was held at the Faculty of Law in Osijek for national minority councils, civil society organizations, institutions and other stakeholders in the fight against discrimination and intolerance as part of the F.R.E.D. - Fostering Racial Equality and Diversity project, which aims to reduce racism, discrimination and other forms of intolerance based on racial or ethnic origin, skin color and religion. This project also seeks to improve the protection of groups, communities and individuals affected by racism, discrimination and intolerance.
The first day was dedicated to the theoretical framework – legislation and institutional mechanisms of the EU and the Republic of Croatia and the rights of minorities, while the second day was focused on practical challenges, case studies and case law in the fight against discrimination.

The education in Osijek is the first of five planned trainings, and the next ones will be held in Vukovar, Rijeka, Zagreb and Čakovec.
