Peaceful reintegration as an example of good practice
We participated in the celebration of Europe Day on May 9, 2026 in Vukovar, organized by the European House Vukovar and the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation from Zagreb.
We thank the organizers for the invitation and for continuing our long-standing cooperation in promoting European values, dialogue and a culture of peace. It is especially important for us to participate in programs that remind us of the significance of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danube region – one of the most important peace-building processes in modern Croatian history.
The celebration of Europe Day is an opportunity to emphasize that solidarity, cooperation, respect for human rights and strong institutions are the foundation of stable and democratic societies. The conversation about peaceful reintegration reminds us that dialogue, trust and citizen involvement are key to long-term peace and social cohesion.
By participating in the info point, we had the opportunity to present our work and talk to citizens about the importance of dealing with the past, building trust and active citizenship.
We thank everyone who contributed to this important and symbolic event.
