Monitoring of war crimes trials

Centre for Peace Osijek has been working on projects dealing with the past for over 15 years. One of the important achievements is the trust we have built with family members of missing civilians and soldiers during the Homeland War. Families confidently turn to us with a request for help in contacting the competent institutions, in search of the remains of their relatives. Furthermore, we have been following war crimes trials for many years. From the beginning, we have insisted that our monitors must be objective, impartial and professional. In cooperation with colleagues from Documenta, as well as from other NGO´s, we monitored and are monitoring over 300 criminal proceedings for war crimes in the Republic of Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
